The Power of Authenticity: How Being Yourself Online Can Transform Your Aesthetics Practice

Let’s talk about something super important: being yourself online and how to stand out as an aesthetic service provider.

YES!! Even as an aesthetic service provider, embracing who you are can attract the best clients. It’s not just about business – it’s about being genuine and relatable.

This is the advice I wish I had known sooner in my marketing journey for my very own marketing business.

It’s so powerful to let your personality shine, to share your passions, all the weird quirky things, and to build a community of like-minded individuals who are genuinely excited to work with you.

Now that I’ve embraced this approach for my own business, making it mandatory! I’ve seen exponential results. Clients are more engaged, more qualified, more loyal, and more likely to refer their colleagues.

And I want you to experience the same success. By being yourself online, you can attract clients who not only appreciate your skills but also resonate with who you are as a person.

This authentic connection is the key to building a thriving, sustainable business.

Be Yourself Online: How to Attract the Best Clients as an Aesthetic Service Provider

1. People Buy from People

Here’s the thing: people connect with people, not just businesses or logos.

If you really want to stand out as an aesthetic service provider you must know THIS:

PEOPLE invest in YOU.

It’s those unique, quirky things about you that people love the most. I’m talking about the things you probably don’t want the world to know because you’re embarrassed, or maybe you were teased about in school!

I learned the importance of this in psychology. When you let your true personality shine through, you create a bond with your audience that goes beyond superficial transactions.

I know it can be scary to show your true self online, especially when your competitors are out there showing up every day without a second thought. But trust me, that’s what makes you stand out. It’s those little quirks and authentic moments that make people feel a genuine connection with you.

Whether it’s your love for a specific hobby, your morning coffee ritual, or even your silly dance moves – these are the things that make you relatable and memorable.

People will book with your office not just because of your skills and services but because of something they connected with online. Maybe it’s the way you talk about your passion for skincare, or the funny stories you share about your day, or even just seeing you being real and human.

These connections foster trust and loyalty, leading to clients who are excited to book with you and keep coming back.

2. Make Your Content Personal

Instead of posting the usual before-and-after photos, try something different. Use a green screen and talk in front of those photos.

Bring your clients into the story – explain your process in detail. Talk about how your client felt before they came in – were they nervous, excited, hopeful? Share the  journey they went through and how they felt when they left your office. Were they relieved, overjoyed, or maybe even teary-eyed with happiness?

Dive into the story behind the transformation. Maybe they had been struggling with their skin for years and this treatment was a game-changer for them. Or perhaps it’s a busy mom who finally took some time for herself, and the results made her feel like a million bucks. These stories add a personal touch that people really connect with.

Explain why you chose a particular treatment and the steps you took to achieve the results. Was there a moment during the treatment that stood out? Did you have a meaningful conversation that made the experience special?

Adding these personal touches makes your content more engaging and relatable. People love stories – they connect with them on an emotional level. When you share the journey, you’re not just showing results, you’re showing the human side of your practice.

This is what makes people feel connected to you and trust you with their own skincare needs.

3. Share Your Story

Let me share a quick story with you. I once had a skincare rep try to make me feel like just another number in the industry. You know the type – not even bothering to get to know my brand or my values.

But I didn’t let that stop me because I knew my approach was different. I knew that real success in this industry comes from being genuine and building real relationships. So, instead of getting discouraged, I embraced my uniqueness and shared my story. I started to talk openly about my journey – the challenges I faced, the lessons I learned, and the passion I have for helping people feel their best.

On my very own platforms, I share some of the quirky, personal details that make me who I am – my love for early morning gym sessions, the chaos of balancing work with raising a teenage son, my love for skincare, and my favorite ways to unwind after a long day.

Guess what? It resonated with so many people. Clients started to reach out, not just because they wanted a service, but because they connected with me on a personal level. They saw themselves in my story, and that created a bond of trust and mutual respect. They appreciated my authenticity and felt confident that I understood their needs and could help them achieve their goals.

So remember it’s not just about the services you offer – it’s about who you are and why you do what you do. When you let your true self shine through, you attract clients who value and resonate with your unique approach.

4. Show Your Human Side

Online, people want to know more about the human behind the scenes. They crave authenticity and connection. The average person is nosey… I say this all the time!

Share your values, your daily routines, and little snippets of your life. These insights help build a bridge between you and your audience.

For example, I can’t tell you how many clients have told me they decided to work with me because I share my gym routine or because they know I have a teenage son. It’s these personal touches that make you relatable and approachable. You don’t have to share everything – it’s about finding a balance that you’re comfortable with. Maybe it’s your morning coffee ritual, your love for a specific hobby, or the books you’re currently reading. These little glimpses into your life build trust and connection.

So, don’t be afraid to let your guard down a bit and share the real you. Your audience will appreciate it, and you’ll build stronger, more meaningful relationships as a result.

Remember, people connect with people, and showing your human side can be incredibly impactful.

5. Day in the Life

Have you ever thought about filming a “Day in the Life” video?

Show what your day looks like, from waking up and doing your skincare routine (don’t forget to tag the brands!) to working in the office, interacting with clients, and even your personal time.

Maybe you pick up the kids, hit the gym, cook your favorite meal, or just relax on a Sunday. It’s up to you how much you share, but people love seeing the real you.
