Dominate Medical & Dental Aesthetics Marketing in 2025 (avoid common mistakes)

Let’s be real—2024 was a rollercoaster for many of us. If you ended the year feelin’ like, What the actual F?!, trust me, you’re not alone.

Even at Cheri Cobb Creative, we felt it—we lost a big account this year. But here’s the thing: setbacks don’t define us, and 2025 is the year we’re turning things around. WE ARE ALL WINNING in 2025!

Are you in?

After working with over 50+ medical and dental aesthetic professionals, my team and I noticed the same mistakes poppin’ up again and again. So, we made this list to help you identify and fix these issues.

Whether you’re a nurse injector, med spa owner, aesthetic dentist, plastic surgeon, or dermatologist, this is for you.

If you’re serious about scaling your medical and dental aesthetics empire in 2025 working on your business (not in it), and finally taking that dream vacation while your empire thrives, here’s what you need to know:

Stop Selling Treatments, Start Selling Experiences

People don’t just buy services—they buy how you make them feel. Just think about it: when someone books a treatment, they’re not just paying for the results—they’re investing in the confidence, care, and connection you provide. It’s about the experience, not just the service.

So, how do you make that happen? You plant the seeds now. Show up consistently, share your stories, and create content that feels authentic to you. Whether it’s sharing a patient’s transformation (with permission, of course) or your own journey, these moments keep you top of mind. When your audience is ready to book, you’re the first person they’ll think of.

Yes, this means stepping out of your comfort zone—maybe going live, filming a quick “day in the life,” or posting a behind-the-scenes clip. But here’s the truth: people connect with people. The more you show up and let them see the real you, the more trust you’ll build.

You don’t have to be perfect because perfect doesn’t exist. You just have to be you.

So, stop overthinking it—get out there, share your brilliance, and watch it reflect in your sales and revenue.

No Goals, No Strategy, No Growth

This is a mistake so many make in the beginning (including me) – random posting and hoping for the best. If you want real growth in your aesthetics clinic, you need to start with a clear strategy and measurable goals. Without those, it’s like driving blind—you might end up somewhere, but it probably won’t be where you want to be.

Here’s how you fix it:

Set KPIs (Key Performance Indicators): Decide what success looks like for your clinic. Is it increasing new patient bookings by 20%? Boosting retention rates by 15%?

Selling a certain number of packages each month? Be specific and make sure your goals are measurable because what can be measured can be improved.

Track Your Efforts: Use tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and client management software to monitor what’s working and what’s not. Data doesn’t lie, and it will tell you exactly where to double down.

Know Your Audience: If you’re speaking to everyone, you’re speaking to no one. Take the time to study your ideal clients—their needs, preferences, and pain points. Speak directly to them in your marketing, using language they resonate with and solutions they’re looking for.

We recently worked with a practice that wanted to increase new patient conversions. We set a goal: a 15% increase in five months. How did we get there? By creating targeted campaigns tailored to their audience, revamping their booking system for a smoother experience, and tracking results every step of the way.

Guess what? Of course, we HIT the goal ahead of schedule.

When you have clear goals and a focused strategy, everything changes. Your efforts stop feeling random, and the growth becomes measurable.

Stop winging it—it’s time to plan, execute, and grow with intention.

No Personality Infused in Your Content

Nobody wants to hear this but if your content is just your logo, stock images, or generic posts, you’re missing the mark.

People don’t connect with logos—they connect with people. Your audience wants to know the person behind the brand, the story behind the services, and the passion that drives you.

Your personality is your superpower even if you think it’s boring. It’s what makes your brand stand out from the competition.

Share your story, your routines, and the moments that make your journey unique.

For example, one of our clients, a new mom and clinic owner, wasn’t sure what to post. We encouraged her to share how she balanced motherhood with running her practice and how she kept her skin glowing during pregnancy.

Those posts? They performed way better than before-and-after photos because they were relatable and real.

It’s not just about your story—it’s about creating content that makes people feel something. Share a tip of the day, YOUR favorite skincare products, or even a behind-the-scenes look at your clinic. Let your audience see themselves in your journey, whether it’s balancing a busy life, achieving a big goal, or overcoming challenges.

Remember, people will always remember how you made them feel. So, start connecting on a human level. Your audience wants to know you, not just what you sell. When they feel that connection, they’re not just booking a service—they’re investing in you long-term.

No Systems in Place

Likes, comments, and shares might look great on your social media stats, but they don’t pay the bills. What actually brings in revenue? Capturing and converting leads. Without proper systems in place to do that, you’re leaving serious money on the table.

Here’s the problem: without a way to separate the casual scroller from the genuinely interested prospect, you’ll struggle to know who’s ready to book and who’s just browsing. That’s where “sexy systems” come in—they’re your secret weapon for scaling and automating your business.

Think about it:

Lead Capture Forms: Are you collecting emails when someone clicks on your content? A simple form linked to your website or in your social bio can help you pull prospects into your ecosystem. Once they’re on your email list, you can nurture that interest and guide them toward booking.

Automated Follow-Ups: When someone shows interest—whether it’s by filling out a form, clicking a link, or sending a DM—your system should send them a quick response. This keeps them engaged while you focus on other priorities.

Client Segmentation: Not all leads are the same. Systems can help you identify who’s a first-time prospect, a repeat client, or someone ready for an advanced treatment. With this insight, you can tailor your outreach and marketing accordingly.

For example, one client we worked with was missing out on over 50% of their inquiries simply because they had no follow-up system in place. Once we implemented automated responses, lead tracking, and appointment reminders, their booking rate shot up by 30% in just a few months.

The truth is, systems don’t just save you time—they help you create a better client experience. From the moment someone interacts with your brand, they feel seen, heard, and valued. And when your systems are running smoothly, you can focus on what you do best: treating clients!

It’s not just about working harder—it’s about working smarter. Let’s get your systems in place!

Rethink Before-and-After Photos

Before-and-after photos have their place, but flooding your social feed with them ain’t it!

People scrolling through Instagram aren’t necessarily in “buying mode.” They’re looking for stories, connections, and inspiration—not just photos of transformations.

Here’s a better strategy: save the bulk of your before-and-after photos for your website. Why? Because that’s where potential clients make decisions.

When they’re browsing your website, they’re actively researching, comparing, and considering whether to book with you.

Seeing those transformations in a professional, curated space creates trust and reinforces the value of your expertise.

On social media, focus on storytelling. Use a green screen feature to showcase a few standout transformations, but don’t stop there. Talk about the patient’s journey—what brought them in, the concerns they shared during the consultation, and how they felt walking out after their treatment.

For example:

“This patient came in feeling self-conscious about their skin texture. During our consultation, they said they just wanted to feel confident at work again. After two sessions, they told us, ‘I can’t stop looking in the mirror—I feel amazing.’”
That kind of content is relatable, emotional, and far more engaging than just posting a photo with no context. Sprinkle a few of those stories on your feed to keep your audience curious, and then invite them to check out your website for a full gallery of before-and-afters.

By doing this, you’re not only leading your audience to where they’re more likely to book, but you’re also setting yourself apart. Social media is about connection; your website is about conversion. When you use both strategically, you’re creating a seamless journey from interest to booking.

No Email Marketing Strategy

Did you know email marketing has an average ROI of $36 for every $1 spent? People check email more often than social media, and it’s one of the most cost-effective ways to stay connected with your audience. (source: Hubspot)

Your Website is Just Pretty, Not Functional

Having a beautiful website is great, but if it’s not working for your business, it’s just a digital brochure. Your website should do more than look good—it should actively drive inquiries, bookings, and conversions. Think of it as your 24/7 sales assistant, guiding potential clients through the journey from “just browsing” to “ready to book.”

Here’s what that looks like:

Clear Navigation: Can visitors easily find the information they’re looking for, like services, pricing, and how to book? If not, they’ll likely bounce to a competitor’s site.

Appointment Booking: Your website should make scheduling a breeze. Integrate an intuitive booking system so potential clients can secure their spot in just a few clicks.

Optimized for SEO: A functional website isn’t just for visitors—it’s for search engines, too. With the right keywords, you can ensure your site ranks high and attracts the clients you want.

We’ve seen too many aesthetic clinics invest in a pretty site that doesn’t work hard enough for their business. That’s why at Cheri Cobb Creative, we provide monthly website management to ensure your site stays updated, optimized, and aligned with your business goals.

Whether it’s updating service descriptions, adding new content, or improving functionality, we make sure your website isn’t just pretty—it’s a powerhouse for conversions.

Your website isn’t just a reflection of your brand—it’s the gateway to your business. Let’s make it a tool that works for you, not just a digital placeholder.

Be Intentional About Everything

Intentionality is the secret sauce to standing out in today’s crowded aesthetics industry. It’s not about posting for the sake of posting or throwing random content at the wall to see what sticks. Every move you make—whether it’s creating a social post, responding to reviews, or designing a campaign—should have a purpose behind it.

Here’s how to be intentional as a medical or dental aesthetics professional:

Content Creation Days: Block out dedicated time for planning and creating your content. This helps you align your messaging with your goals and ensures consistency across all platforms. For example, if you’re launching a new treatment, plan out educational posts, transformation stories, and FAQs ahead of time to build excitement and drive bookings.

Engage With Clients: Don’t just post and ghost. Make it a point to interact with your audience by responding to comments, DMs, and reviews. Showing that you’re present and engaged builds trust and fosters loyalty.

Track Your Metrics: Look at what’s working and what’s not. Are certain posts driving more inquiries? Are your emails leading to bookings? Use this data to refine your strategy and focus on what moves the needle.

Increase Online Reviews: Reviews are one of the most powerful tools to attract new clients. Actively ask satisfied patients to leave reviews, and make it easy for them by sending follow-up emails or texts with direct links. These testimonials build credibility and influence potential clients’ decisions.

Intentionality isn’t just about ticking boxes—it’s about creating a brand experience that resonates.

When you approach every aspect of your business with purpose, you’ll see a shift in how your audience engages with you.

The truth is, clients can tell the difference between a business that’s thoughtful and strategic versus one that’s just going through the motions. Being intentional shows that you value their time and trust, and that’s what keeps them coming back.

Don’t leave your success to chance—start planning with purpose today. Your business (and your clients) will thank you for it.

Too Many Outside Voices

Not everyone (not every marketing company) understands the aesthetics industry or personal branding. Viral posts and follower counts are vanity metrics—they don’t drive bookings. Focus on proven strategies tailored to your industry, not generic advice that doesn’t move the needle.
